Aim & Scopes
Aims:
International Thaqafah aims to serve as an open-access scholarly platform that advances authoritative academic research and discussion in the field of Islamic studies, specifically those grounded in established traditional Islamic scholarly disciplines. This journal intends to bridge the Islamic scholarly heritage with contemporary needs, stimulate critical thinking, and encourage studies based on primary sources and turath (classical) works. Furthermore, it aims to support the continuous development of Islamic knowledge, strengthen research methodologies in the fields of tafsir (exegesis), hadith (prophetic traditions), fiqh (jurisprudence), aqidah (theology), tasawwuf (Sufism), as well as Islamic history and civilization, and to become a space for scholarly dialogue that encourages the exchange of academic ideas and thoughts among scholars, researchers, and university students at the national and international levels.
Scope:

Tafsir and ʿUlūm al-Qurʾān – Quranic studies, methodologies of exegesis, and the disciplines of Quranic sciences derived from classical and contemporary works.

Hadith and ʿUlūm al-Ḥadīth – Studies of the chain of narrators (sanad) and text (matan), methodologies of hadith extraction (takhrij), evaluation of hadith, commentaries (syarah), and the science of hadith terminology (mustalah al-hadith).

Usul Fiqh and Qawāʿid Fiqhiyyah – Methods of legal ruling determination, principles of deduction (istinbat), and the application of Islamic legal maxims (qawa'id fiqhiyyah).

Fiqh and Syariah – Rulings on acts of worship (ibadat) and transactions (muamalat), and comparative school of thought (mazhab) approaches.

Aqidah and Islamic Thought – Theological issues, schools of thought, and the preservation of the understanding of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah.

Tasawwuf and Islamic Ethics – Purification of the soul (tazkiyah al-nafs), morality (akhlak), spirituality, and ethical development in the contemporary context.

Islamic Civilization and History – Studies of prophetic biography (sirah), prominent figures, civilizational development, and historical analysis for the formation of the Muslim identity.
